A NEW LIFE

She carried me gently
so near her heart
Of her body for nine months
I was a part.

Created by God
and placed in her womb;
I was a rosebud
that one day would bloom.

Then out of the womb
my journey began.
I was a part
of God's wonderful plan!

Created in Christ
to follow his way,
So lovingly tended
by mother each day.

She loved me
and cared for me tenderly.
She wanted my life
for Christ to be.

My father so gently
guided my life
And helped to keep it
free from strife.

They took me to church
taught me to pray;
Encouraged me daily
to love in God's way.

They wanted me so,
to serve Christ the King.
And always His
wonderful praises sing.

I wanted for nothing
was given their all,
But also trained upon
Christ to call.

God's plan for my life
they did foresee
But that wasn't wanted
by stubborn me.

I willfully went my
very own way
Walked farther from
Christ day after day.

Their pleas of warning
I refused to heed,
I thought that their God
I did not need.

Sin filled my life,
I lived only for self;
I craved all of this world's
fun and wealth.

To those I loved most,
I did the most wrong
And squandered and wasted
many years long.

Time I could have
been serving Christ
Was time spent instead
in sin and strife.

Then one day, broken
and bruised by sin,
I gave what was left of
my life to Him.

He took me and
nursed me fervently,
And helped me gently
His love to see.

Upon His bosom my
head He placed;
And all of my sin at
that time I faced.

I pleaded,"Forgive me,
Lord, you must."
And in His word
I began to trust.

My parents now gone
they could not see
All the changes
God wrought in me.

But I knew that they
now resided where
There were no worries,
heartaches or care.

And one day I know
that face to face
I'll see them, and all of their hurt
I'll try to erase.

Now each day's like
Heaven here on earth
And more and more
I can see my worth.

A vessel of clay he has
molded, and made fit,
And one day in Glory
with Him I will sit.
