"Echoes of Silence"
(A Tribute to the Crew of the Space Shuttle
Columbia)
And the silence spoke in screaming
volumes,
And the photographer photographed,
The artist began to sketch,
Again the Nations cry.
And the silence exploded and began
defragmentation,
The onlookers watched in horror,
The soul seekers prayed,
And the Nations weep.
And the silence became deafening, bursting
with sound,
Old wounds reopened and ran with blood,
Millions of hearts shattered all at once,
As the Nations mourn.
And the silence was terrifying, and no
longer was it mute,
It spoke in repeating tones that all could
hear,
Spewing towards reflections of days gone
by,
And the Nations sob.
And the silence reached forth and gathered
it's Seven Angels,
And the Heavens welcomed them.
Tears began to flow like rushing rivers,
And the Nations listened.
Until finally,,, silence echoed silence.
