I met him on
a Sunday, Thirty-six years ago
I loved him completely, he knew it
was so-
One week to the day, he made me
his wife-
For thirty-six years, I made him
my life
The ups and downs in all those
years
Were balanced completely with
laughter and tears
Two short years later we had a
son,
Two daughters followed one by one
We buried our third on a cold
winter's day
Our last baby girl sleeps the long
years away
Now he can hold her to his breast
As he watches over all the rest
I'll set him free make no mistake
As I scatter his ashes at Cedar
Lake
He'll run the coons by night and
day
And catch the fish that got away
He'll roam these shores with King
and Ace
And Old Blue will find him in this
place
He'll rest down by the fishing
hole
and peace and joy will fill his
soul
We'll hear his voice upon the wind
And see his shadow now and then
I feel his presence ever strong
He waits for me and it won't be
long
The love we share won't go away
and I will join him some sweet day
