A
MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTE

FREEDOM IS TO
SWEETNESS |
|
Just as I always did,
before I sat down,
I straightened out the
wrinkles of your spread-
and just for that moment
I felt your warmth,
the warmth on the pillow
where you once laid your
head
I took a deep breath,
and let it out real
slow,
as though I was inhaling
your precious life-
On your wall right above
the bed, was a photo-
in it, a pretty young
thing, you said would be
your wife
Through silence of the
morning a song appears,
Tim McGraws’ “If your
reading this, I’m
already home,”
Tears fill my eyes, roll
off my cheeks to the
floor-
in a puddle at my feet,
lay my heart forevermore
Oh my Dearest Son, I’ll
remember you always,
not just one day of the
year-
It’s not your death but
your life I’ll
celebrate,
by refusing to live in
fear
Freedom is to sweetness;
As the price is to
bitterness,
we’ll drink heartily
from each cup this day-
Remembering every drop
of blood that’s been
shed-
while holding the enemy
at bay

Please say a prayer for
our ground troops around
the world, sailors on
ships, and airmen in the
air, and for those waging
war with Iraq, and all the
coalition forces with
them.
"Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they
protect us.
Bless them and their
families for the selfless
acts they perform
for us in our time of
need. Amen."
There is nothing
attached....
You won't receive a
miracle in two days or
have a wish come true.
This can be very
powerful....for the
spirits of our men and
their
families, and you will
also feel blessed for
having done so.
Just forward this to all
the people in your address
book. Of all the gifts
you could give a US
Soldier, Sailor, Marine or
Airman,
prayer is the very best
one. |
